Valparaiso Identification Program (VIP) Philosophy
The VIP program has three distinct purposes:
1) VIP is designed to identify and evaluate potential soccer recruits for high level college soccer.
2) VIP aims to provide a high level educational experience to the VIP players by providing top flight coaching and high level competition that is supplemented by off the field seminars and discussions on college soccer, personal development, sports psychology, and the college search process.
3) VIP will immerse the serious soccer player in an environment that simulates the typical routine of a college athlete.

Breaking News on the 2008 VIP!

Valparaiso University head coach Mike Avery announced a partnership between the 2008 VIP and the Valparaiso Holiday Inn Express Hotel.  Both sessions of the 2008 VIP will utilize the brand new Holiday Inn Express property in Valparaiso as the camp's home base.  All VIP participants will stay in the beautiful newly built hotel and enjoy the two per room accommodations, cable TV, air conditioning, wireless internet access and indoor pool and spa. A close walk to Eastgate Field and the Valparaiso University campus, the Holiday Inn Express is perfectly located to help maximize the VIP experience.  All hotel arrangements are handled by the VIP staff and the hotel fees are included in the camp costs.

"We are pleased that Holiday Inn Express has come on board with this summer's VIP.  The hotel overlooks our playing and training facility at Eastgate which will shorten the time needed to move between on the field and off the field activities and allows the VIP staff to get the most out of time we spend with the players.  We want the players to be at their competitive best and this move will help them accomplish that. Our goal from day one has been to make the VIP one of the premier camp experiences in the country, and this partnership with the Holiday Inn Express of Valparaiso pushes us closer to that goal."   -  Head Coach Mike Avery

2007 VIP: "... a huge success!"

The inaugural Valparaiso Identification Program is now in the books, and for VIP Director and first year Valparaiso University head coach Mike Avery, the program was "a huge success!"

"We had over sixty high level players from around the country participate in the VIP,
and this group set the bar very high for future VIP classes," said coach Avery.
"The quality of play was impressive, and the entire group stayed incredibly tuned in to
the lectures and discussions. For both players and staff, the 2007 VIP was a huge success!"
